Zephan Courtney (b. 1970) grew up in Plymouth, MA. In 1987 he enrolled at the New England Conservatory of Music where he studied music performance. He began playing with local bands in Boston in 1989 and in 1993 was signed to Columbia records as part of the group Stompbox. In the following two decades he recorded and toured with Chevy Heston, Milligram, Juliana Hatfield and many others. He has performed in Germany, Austria, France and the UK as well as venues in all of the lower 48 US states.
In 2017 Zeph and his wife Liz relocated from Brooklyn to Vermont where they currently operate Go Destroy Art recording studio.
